Paisley Friends of the Dog Park Survey
Hello, thanks for taking this survey regarding a new location for the Paisley Dog Park.
The Paisley Friends of the Dog Park are proposing a park with two partitioned spaces allowing for appropriate off-leash space for both small and large breed dogs.
The propsed fencing style will be high-tensile woven wire as shown below.

The benefit of a high-tensile, woven wire fence is that it is strong and durable, it's safe for animals, it's affordable, it covers long distances affordably, it works on uneven or rural terrain, it prevents dogs digging out and it provides visibility.
In accordance with key design standards in Ontario it is proposed that the fence will be 5 – 6 feet tall with a double-gated transition corral that prevents dogs from escaping when other users enter or exit. The pedestrian gates will be equipped with heavy-duty self-closing hinges and self-latching hardware. The latches will be positioned so people can easily operate them, but dogs cannot accidentally bump them open. The perimeter of the dog park will be equipped with two wide, lockable, double-drive gate (typically 10 to 12 feet wide) to allow municipal lawnmowers, maintenance vehicles, and surface material replenishment trucks into the enclosure. In compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the gate thresholds will be flush with the ground and access will be at least six feet wide and latches will be operable with one hand without tight grasping.
The existing location of water and waste bins will serve the needs of the new dog park. The existing pavilion will be relocated within the perimeters of the park.
We welcome your input on this dedicated dog park that will serve our community for years to come. Thank you!
